How are you?
Today
I will show you the 5th writing
assignment (作文5) - writing about your future working life and lifestyle.
Topic
Write about what you would like for your ideal future working life and lifestyle.
Think about the kind of working situations you would like to
have. Would it be working in a company or start-up? Or would you maybe prefer
to work more independently – for example, in a company that would allow you to
work on your own, perhaps in your own small office - perhaps even in a situation
where you make your own working hours and so long as you meet deadlines, you
could even work anytime you wanted?
Would you like to even have a different kind of schedule –
for example, working at night or even on weekends, and sleeping and resting
during the daytime? Would you prefer working freelance, or even starting your
own business, either with another person in your field – or on your own? Would you like to work from an office - or from home?
I would like you to cover
these points in your writing:
- the kind of working situation and schedule you would like (research for a company or start-up, or perhaps as part of a university, or even through your own business, plus the kinds of hours and place you want to do your work in)
- the kind of place you would like to live in (such as in Tokyo or another major city, or perhaps in a small city or even a town somewhere in Japan, or another country)
- the kind of life you envision for yourself (married, staying single, living in a large house or mansion, or some other kind of living arrangement)
While this assignment deals with only one topic, you have a
lot of freedom to write about the kind of working life and lifestyle you wish
for in your future.
How much to write
I would like you to write as much as you can, around 3-5 paragraphs' worth of writing - though the more, the better!
Deadline (締め切り)
It will be November 19th (11/19), so I want
you to work on your first draft (下書き) starting today in your notebooks in pencil outside of class. Next class, I will try to show you how you can review your drafts, and you can change things about the draft as you need to,
then write to the finish, print the final version out (if you type it up), and turn in your
work.
Good luck with this! I hope you can
have fun with this, and enjoy writing about your ideal working life and
lifestyle.
I look
forward to reading your great writing on this topic!
