ECA (Speaking) I & II (J, D, & A): 娯楽、場所、イベント

Hello and Happy New Year!

igitalPhotos.net
How are you? How was your holiday? I hope it was a good one for all of you!

Here's a post about entertainment (娯楽), places (場所) and events (イベント)!

What kinds of places or events would you like to go and see? Look at these places and events. Which ones do you like? Which ones are interesting? Which ones do you like? Which one do you like the best? Which one is the most interesting? Talk (and write) about these places and events

例えば:

A: What do you want to do - go to a live concert or an open air market
B: Hmm...a live concert
A: A live concert? How come?
B: Because I love live music. How about you?
A: Well, it's okay, but I think an open air market is more interesting to go to.

Now try this - look at these pictures. Mix and match them and talk about places and events you would like to go to!

ECA (英語基礎表現) I (P): 娯楽、イベント、旅行のヴォキャブラーリ・アイディア

Hello!

How are you? Today I will show you the words and ideas about events and places you like to go to about summer that you wrote in the classroom before.

When we write about things we like to do - places, traveling, and things like that - it's good to have many words and ideas that can help you. These were very good!

Activity (活動
Let's write some sentences about things we want to do, or are going to do, or will do. These word maps you wrote in class before might help you! Look at them and they might help you with your writing!

Have fun! See you next time!

ECA (Travel English): 秋期・期末プレゼンテーションについて

Hello!

How are you? Here is a special post for all of you - some points about your final presentations (期末プレゼンテーション). Here are some rules and points:

Presenting with a partner or presenting alone
You can present with one (1) partner - or present alone. But I have to know next week (1/21) which way you are presenting

You can select any partner you want if you want a partner - but remember, only two (2) partners at most!

Topics
You can present on any topic we have learned about this semester. Here is what we did:

1. Customs & immigration, requests, rules & permission (入国出国手続き依頼と許可)
2. Shopping, food, restaurants & tipping, information (ショッピング・食べ物レストランとチップ情報)
3. Global & glocal issues in travel (旅行のグロバル・グロカルのこと)
4. Entertainment, events, festivals  (娯楽、イベント、祭り)

SPECIAL NOTE
Please remember that we did our mid-term presentations (中間プレゼンテーション) about food from other cultures and countries - so please do not do a presentation about food! (But presenting about restaurants or eating styles in other countries and cultures are okay!)

Displays
You can make posters or a Power Point. My advice is to have 5-6 pictures for a poster - or 7-8 pictures for a Power Point show

Remember to put your Power Point show on a USB hard drive!

Information to put on your poster or Power Point
Here's what you should have in your presentation:

1. Pictures of things that connect to your topic

2. Written information about facts or points about your topic

Here's an example of a poster layout for one of these topics:

Schedule for our last classes
1/14 - final presentation introduction

1/21 - open class time for presentation work, checking by me with advice, comments, or any help you need - plus presentation practice if you can (I strongly recommend that you practice your presentations!)

1/28 -  final presentations

I hope this helps you. Let's get to work - but let's also have fun with these displays!

See you next week!
