電気通信大学 AWE I: Historic places & events・歴史的な場所、出来事

Hello!

How are you? Today let's look at some places where historic events took place.

Look at the picture above. It is in Reims, France. A historic event took place here in May 1945. Can you guess what happened here?

Activity

Now look at these pictures (including the one at the top). What do you think happened in these places? With a partner or in a small group, talk about your ideas on what you think might have happened in these places on the dates shown below the pictures.

When you're finished, choose two (2) of the places and freewrite 1-2 separate paragraphs on what you think happened in them at these times

1.
JSDF headquarters, Ichigaya, Tokyo, November 1970

2.

Farm of Max Yasgur, New York state, U.S., August 1969

3.
Birla House, New Delhi, India, January 1948

4.
Public bus, Montgomery, Alabama, U.S., December 1955

Homework
Now go on the internet and with your guesses, check the two (2) pictures you wrote about. What really happened in the places you chose?

Don't change your writing - add notes on the back of your paper about the places and what happened in them at these times

Have fun! See you next week!
