ECA (英語基礎表現) I (Super A): 作文 2

Hello!

How are you? Today I will show you our 2nd writing assignment (作文2) - writing about people or places!

You will choose one (1) picture of a person or a place, and write 1-3 paragraphs about it.

For example - look at the picture of the man at the top. What's your impression (感想) of him? How do you think he feels? What kind of life does he have?

Think about questions like these, and you can choose his picture, or one of the next two pictures:

Now here are some pictures of places. If you don't want to write about people, choose one (1) of these pictures. The last picture is a place with people in it:

Good luck - but have fun with this!

Take care!

ECA (英語基礎表現) I (Super A): 人物を描写する

Hello!

How are you? Let's learn about how to describe people and their feelings (人物、気分を描写する).

Activity/homework
Look at these pictures. Write about the people in these pictures. The picture at the top of this post is an example (例えば) :

This person has a long, curly white beard. He's older and smiling. He looks happy.

Now try to write some extra details about his clothes (洋服がさらに細かい描写)

He's wearing a cream-colored hat and shirt with a white t-shirt underneath.

Now add something at the end about his feelings (気分)

He looks happy.

So, your description (描写) can look like this

This person has a long, curly white beard. He's older and smiling. He's wearing a cream-colored hat and shirt with a white t-shirt underneath. He looks happy.

ECA (Speaking) II (All): 音楽について

Hello,

How are you? Do you remember the four pieces of music I played for you in class? Let's listen to them again to help you with writing more about them! I also have information links about these artists you can click on.

Would these video images, and reading about these musicians, change your ideas about what you wrote?

First - below is the first piece of music you heard - Jacques Loussier and his version of J.S. Bach's "Siciliano in G Minor."

About Jacques Loussierclick here for a Wikipedia article in Japanese about him.

Next - here is the second piece of music you heard - Ronny Jordan and his song "After Hours."

About Ronny Jordanclick here also for a Wikipedia article in Japanese about him.
After that - for the third piece of music you heard - Frank Zappa's "Little Umbrellas."

About Frank Zappa - click here for a Wikipedia article in Japanese about him.

Finally - for the last piece of music you heard - Jeff Beck's "The Final Peace."

About Jeff Beck - now click here for a Wikipedia article in Japanese about him.

What do you think of this music and these musicians? Does seeing the artists' pictures or some image with the music, or reading about them on Wikipedia, change your ideas of the music?

Now write about this music as part of your homework!

Hope you enjoyed listening to them again.

See you next time!

ECA (Speaking) I (C, W, & A): interesting places student presentations

Hello!

How are you? Today I'd like to show some of the great presentations all of you made in our mid-term (中間) presentations.

I'm very proud of the work all of you did. Here I'll show a few of your presentation posters and Power Point slide shots, like the one at the top from a Power Point presentation about France. Looks great, doesn't it?

Here are some more! Most of you chose places in Japan, which was great. Check out this one about Ibaraki:

That was great! Now let's look at this one about a unique part of Tokyo - the Shitamachi:

I really like the design of this one! Now how about this, about Kawagoe:

Is Kawagoe in Saitama a city, or a town? An interesting question! It has the character of both, I think!

Check this one out too - about Osaka!

I love the design of this one too! Now how about this one on four great places in Kyoto:

Or how about this - Hokkaido:

As you can see, most of you chose places in Japan, which was great. But this person chose France, which the top picture was the title slide for. Here's a little more:

That was great! So…

..and thanks for checking this out!

See you!
